High Places is dedicated to bible study free from the influence of man-made traditions and pre-conceived religious models.  We believe our Creator, Yahueh (His Hebrew name), reveals in the bible a glorious plan for mankind, even though 'all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ' (Romans 3:23, King James Bible).   It is up to us to study the scriptures in depth, comparing scripture with scripture, pursuing truth with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

Among the important subjects we study at High Places are the following:

I.  CHURCH: What is a 'church' and why doe the bible really not mention it?
II. ISRAEL: Why is Israel the center of world history and spiritual meaning?
III.THE TRUE NAME OF G_D:  Why use a title instead of His real name?
IV.'LOST TRIBES' OF ISRAEL:  They're not lost and never have been.
V.  THE SABBATH DAY OF REST:  Why was this eternal sign set aside?
VI. BIBLE LANGUAGE:  What has been lost in translations?
VII.  RAPTURE:  Where did this idea ever come from?
VIII.  THE END-TIME RESTORATION: What is the meaning of Acts 3:21-- the 'restoration of all things spoken by the Yahueh through the mouths of the prophets since the world began?'
IX.  JEWS AND GENTILES:  A lot of misinformation about who's who!
X. TORAH: The Instruction of our heavenly Father: not the 'works of the law.'

Scripture Challenge #1:  The Sabbath Question

HOW CAN CHRISTIANITY DEFEND THE SPIRIT OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS (Exodus 20) , AND THEN IGNORE SOME OF THEM: Case in point, THE 4TH COMMANDMENT, "Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy. . . ."  In fact, there are more instructions in this 4th commandment than in all the others.  Seems like its really important to our Maker!  And what about the assertions by Yahshua (Jesus) that "the Sabbath was made for man?"  The truth is, religious mankind has altered the meaning of the Sabbath, thus missing the great blessing of dedication of a full 24-hour day of rest!  The first day of the week, Sunday, has replaced the last day of the week (Saturday), and most churches and communities have only a few hours on Sunday dedicated to worship, congregational gatherings, or study, or helping the poor.  Yahueh intended the Sabbath to be a FULL day, and through its observance, man could be healed, refreshed, and fully prepared for the next six days!

Scripture Challenge #2: The Season of The Messiah's Birth

The Christmas season is not the season of Yahshua's (Jesus') birth!  This can be verified by checking out the six months between the birth of John (cousin) and the Messiah.  The birth of John ('the baptist') was predicted by G_d to John's father, who served in the temple in a particular order of priestly service which can be verified by studying the Hebrew family history.  The timing shows that John the Baptist had to have been born in the Spring, and the Messiah six months later, in the Fall.  The proper season is the Hebrew Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah), followed by the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), the meaning of which, among other things, is that the Yahueh is with His people.  The season of Moshiach's return likewise will be the season of Yom Teruah and the Feast of Tabernacles.
